New Direction in the New Year

Dear Wake Up Family:

I chose to send a letter this month instead of an article because what I have to say is informative rather than thought provoking; think of it as a Christmas letter from a family member to catch you up on what’s happened at Wake Up throughout the year. To say that change was needed at Wake Up, both from a business perspective and a ministry perspective would be an understatement, and thankfully even more changes are coming in the New Year. This short letter is to share what some of the changes have been and will be.

Before Larry Wilson passed away, he left specific instructions of what and how Wake Up should move forward with its mission. He wanted Wake Up to take its message to the next level, to expand it to a hungry world that needs to know what’s coming and why. He wanted to staff Wake Up with capable people who could implement the needed changes as the Lord enabled them. One Board member stated Larry’s vision this way: “Just because ‘America won’t Wake-up,’ doesn’t mean others in the world won’t.” As you would expect, to go to a world of different cultures and languages would take some effort.

Well, to make a four-year-long story short, little happened in the way of outreach after Larry’s passing. Unfortunately, sometimes the only way to fix a problem is to rebuild and redirect. So starting in 2025, Wake Up employed four more people. Two for making the business operations and financial aspects of Wake Up transparent and open, one to help out in the office, and the other as a social media and web manager. The Board also unanimously made the decision that Wake Up needed new leadership and therefore Marty Purvis is no longer with Wake Up. I realize this may come as a jolt to some of you who have been with Wake Up for many years. However, we want to assure you that the Board did not come to this decision lightly and did so only after careful reflection and consideration of all the available facts and circumstances.

As a result of these significant changes, Wake Up now will expand its outreach and get on with performing its mission to “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone,” because “I have other sheep that are not in this sheepfold. They will listen to my voice, and there will be one flock with one shepherd.”

Now, having shared what generally happened in 2025, I want to share Wake Up’s vision for the future and ask each of you to earnestly pray for Wake Up to do all that God wants, and that He will give us the wisdom, opportunities, and ability to hear the Holy Spirit as He directs Wake Up in the next 1–3 years.

The first, biggest, and most noticeable change in 2026 will be our new website coming online in January. If you’ve had a bad experience with Wake Up’s website in the past, I hope that you will give it another try after mid-January. We should have the gremlins worked out by then. My favorite new feature will be in language translation. With a click of a button, you should be able to view the whole site in most of the world’s languages. Not only the site itself but the materials Wake Up has produced and published since Larry began the ministry in the late 80’s.

Some of the other changes for 2026 are: (1) the Wake Up Article will go out quarterly instead of monthly. (2) Shirley Wilson requested that chapter 21 of the Revelation of Jesus continues book (The spirit of prophecy) be made into a booklet. (3) The Five S’s will also be made into a booklet. This should be a good one to share as an introduction to Wake Up’s message. (4) Update all of the booklets and translate them into Spanish, French, Italian, German, and Russian. (5) Create audio booklets in each of those languages. Of course, this one paragraph will take most, if not all, of 2026 to complete. Yet, what a blessing to be able to reach a world that needs to know about Jesus; about what he has done and is doing for each one of us, right now.

Beginning in 2027, we plan to begin printing books in other countries so that they may be printed more inexpensively and distributed more closely to where recipients are. Postage is incredibly expensive, even prohibitive from the US to some countries. So as interest rises around the world, we’ll have resources available close by that can be shared quickly and economically. Another project for 2027 is translating all of Wake Up’s books into the five languages. The plan is to create study guides and audio books to compliment the printed books.

For 2028, we plan to include the Asian languages to the booklet’s, books, and audio versions. We have actually received a hand written letter in Chinese and broken English asking for books written in Chinese. The Lord is moving, and we also need to get moving if we’re to be about His business.

As you can see, Wake Up has much work to do. No other ministry knows about or teaches the four rules needed to understand Bible Prophecy. It’s Wake Up’s responsibility and mission to teach the world about those four rules. Please help us by praying sincerely that God would sustain this little ministry to do the great work He has for us to do.

Rex
