FINAL HOUR MINISTRIES – HARRISON, MICHIGAN:
The Harrison, Michigan study group continues to change as time passes. Some of those who started the initial study group have moved away, others live in the area and come regularly (less than 10 people), while still others, who live farther away, join the group when they can.
Under the direction of Mary Hayes, Final Hour Ministries (formal name for the group), recently purchased a mobile home to meet in regularly, and by Spring, hope to support all their witnessing projects from that location.
Over the past year, this small group has mailed over 2,000 Warning! books to local residents. In addition, a local health food store allowed them to set up a display, offering a free Warning! book. Many books have been distributed in this manner.
Last August, they set up a table at a rest area on an interstate highway and shared over 400 books with interested individuals before a complaint about religious material being distributed on state property. The group has also sponsored other projects which originated at the WUAS office and were sent to people in Michigan.
Also, the group is developing a Bible puzzle book, which will include word search and crossword puzzles concerning end-time events. They hope to have enough material by January, 1996 to publish a book and to have some puzzles published in the local paper.
This past November, a terrible storm with high wind caused a tree to fall, hitting the trailer. The group was gathered inside the trailer for their Sabbath study and were kneeing in a circle of prayer, when the tree hit. When the storm had passed, they ventured outside to inspect the damage.
They were thrilled to find that the damage was limited to a small area and repairable. From the direction the wind was blowing, the whole weight of the large tree should have hit the trailer. Miraculously, only one limb penetrated the roof making a six inch hole.
They rejoiced in God’s protection, knowing that surely, God’s angels had kept the trailer from serious damage, not to mention those gathered inside.
As they look forward to the new year, the Harrison, Michigan study group is looking for new ways to share the news that Jesus is coming soon.
