The Four Spirits and Four Horsemen

Dear Wake Up Family!

When the time came to rebuild the temple which Nebuchadnezzar destroyed in 586 B.C., the Lord gave the prophet Zechariah a vision concerning horses and chariots. “There before me were four chariots coming out from between two mountains — mountains of bronze. The first chariot had red horses, the second black, the third white, and the fourth dappled — all of them powerful. I asked the angel who was speaking to me, ‘What are these, my Lord?’ The angel answered me, ‘These are the four spirits [the four living creatures] of Heaven, going out from standing in the presence of the Lord of the whole world. The one with the black horses is going toward the north country, the one with the white horses toward the west, and the one with the dappled horses toward the south.’ When the powerful horses went out, they were straining to go throughout the Earth. And He saido throughout the Earth!’ So they went throughout the Earth. Then He called to me, ‘Look, those going toward the north country have given my Spirit rest in the land of the north.’ (Zechariah 6:1-8, insertion mine)

Here is a brief explanation of the vision. Zechariah saw the Holy Spirit (four horses pulling the king’s chariots) sent to the four corners of Earth to bring peace. This was familiar imagery and significant to Zechariah because of the continual warfare going on in the region. The warfare was frustrating and inhibiting the rebuilding of the temple. The Lord showed Zechariah He had sent the Holy Spirit throughout the region so that a period of peace would follow. When the Holy Spirit reported back to the Lord He was straining to do as commanded, that He needed to use more coercive power to achieve the goal, the Lord approved and peace came to “the land of the north.”

From Zechariah’s point of view, “the land of the north” was important for two reasons. First, the Persians ruled “the land of the north” and peace meant the rebuilding of the temple could proceed with government help because funds weren’t being wasted on war. (War is expensive.) Second, supplies for the temple and the transport of the supplies from “the land of the north” became possible because of peace. This vision was given to the prophet to underscore how the temple would be rebuilt. The angel has previously said through Zechariah, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.” (Zechariah 4:6) You may wonder, what does this have to do with today? The four horses in Zechariah 6 are the same four horses in Revelation 6. The four spirits in Zechariah 6 are the same four living creatures in Revelation 4-6. The four creatures/horses/horsemen/chariots represent the Holy Spirit who is omnipresent in the north, south, east and west.

The parallel is this: The Holy Spirit can bring peace to Earth, but when He withdraws, wars erupt. We are living in a troubled world because the Holy Spirit is withdrawing. Of course, he is not withdrawing from anyone who seeks to honor and please the Lord, but He is withdrawing from the secular arena.

We see unrest in many places; nations are preparing for “all-out war.” The next world war will be a desperate fight for survival because it will be unlike anything the world has ever seen! I believe the Holy Spirit has kept world war at bay for about 75 years. The Holy Spirit has kept the “winds of war” in check because God has a higher purpose. Now that the appointed time of the end has arrived and evil and immorality are rampant, the Holy Spirit is withdrawing because of the “full cup principle.” Decadent and degenerate people are about to usher in a period of deadly conflict.

I want to bring these two matters together, because at the moment, we have relative peace and the freedom to share “present truth.” Now is the time to share-share-share the gospel of Jesus, and you are sharing!!! I am thrilled at the many reports I have received concerning our goal of reaching one million people and giving away one million dollars in materials over the next three years! As you know, to reach our financial objective, we need give away an average of $28,000 per month. Meanwhile, our YouTube outreach continues to produce strong results, during the past month, 9,513 visitors viewed 123,309 minutes! Our website had over 30,000 visitors last month! Overall, we are very happy with July 2019. Counting July, we have now given away 19,892 items. The value of these items, totals nearly $100,000! If you continue to share-share-share, we could accomplish our million dollar give-away project in two and a half years! This is so exciting! The Holy Spirit is blessing our efforts! “ ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.” (Zechariah 4:6)

Please order and share more booklets, and continue to pray that each seed sown will produce a wonderful harvest for the Lord! Please let us know if you have a story to share that will inspire others to share-share-share! I am still doing all I can for the Lord and I know you are too. May the Lord continue to bless each of you in every way.

Pressing on,

Larry
