Unidentified Flying Objects or Demon Appearances?

Dear Wake Up Family and Friends,

For centuries, thousands of people worldwide have claimed to have seen objects in the sky they could not identify. In 1953, the U.S. Air Force coined the term UFO or Unidentified Flying Object to describe objects that could not be explained. At the same time, the U.S. government began to minimize the credibility of UFO reports by downplaying their reporting and those who claimed to observe them. An aura of mystery surrounding such claims has, over time, increased.

UFO sighting reports have not declined, but scientists are leery to investigate the reports because they fear damage to their reputation. However much of the landscape has changed due to a new U.S. government report about “UAP” (Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon) released on June 25. In this report, there were 144 observations of UAPs by U.S. Armed Services personnel during the past 17 years, of which 143 instances were unidentifiable.

The government report identified five possible explanations for UAP observations. Four of them are: natural atmospheric phenomena, U.S. government or industry developmental programs, foreign adversary systems, or airborne clutter. The fifth explanation, which most of the observations fall into, is the catch-all category called “Other.”

Twenty-one of the military UAP reports identified unusual movements or flight characteristics such as the ability to “remain stationary in winds aloft, move against the wind, maneuver abruptly, or move at considerable speed, without discernable means of propulsion. In a small number of cases, military aircraft systems processed radio frequency energy associated with UAP sightings.” (bit.ly/3hCahBr)

Public interest has grown over the past decades. In 1987, the year Wake Up was founded, there were 294 reported sightings of UFOs at the National UFO Reporting Center. Last year, 7,213 reports were made. While there could be reasonable explanations for many of the sightings, this huge increase indicates to me Jesus is coming soon.

Many people already consider UAP sightings to be extraterrestrial spacecraft. Surprisingly, the quantity of American people who believe in intelligent alien life now equals the quantity who believe in God! On the other hand, many Christians who believe we live in a sinful world do not accept UAP sightings to be aliens from another planet, because a sinless being from another planet would not come to a planet filled with sin’s grime and evil. A student of prophecy might conclude that demons are becoming more active and visible as evil permeates every element of Earth. However, consider this increased activity in light of the fifth trumpet when Satan will physically appear.

Most people, who do not understand Revelation’s story, would consider UAP sightings and physical appearances of demons to be extraterrestrial aliens who have an advanced technology. The movies and media have already planted the seed that there may be friendly aliens. If, in the context of the first four trumpets, Satan’s demons appeared from UAPs as benign beings “here to resolve the problems of humanity,” humanity would eagerly accept their lies. What a deception!

The apostle Paul recognized there were unseen entities asserting power over this dark world. “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12, italics mine) As we draw close to the end of this world’s history, Satan and his demons will change from benevolent beings to malevolent hosts of wickedness as they near their final battle against Christ and His people. Pray that we will be ready and not be deceived when Antichrist appears.

Blessings,
Marty
